AFR: Petra Capital beefs up research team with new hires
Boutique stockbroker Petra Capital is in expansion mode, adding four new faces to its team, including long-term Bell Potter healthcare analyst Tanushree Jain.
Jain, who starts with Petra Capital in January, has been with Bell Potter for 10 years and has also done a stint at UBS covering the US large cap pharmaceuticals.
She is expected to spearhead a move by Petra Capital into the healthcare space.
Fitting with the firm’s move into healthcare is the addition of Katya Beider to the Petra’s corporate team. She has degrees in molecular biology and neurobiology.
Also joining the firm in January will be industrials analyst Trevor Huynh, who moves across from JBWere, where he was a quantitative equities consultant. But he also did a seven-year stint with Citi, in which he covered industrials.
Earlier this month former mining analyst for Andrew Richards made a return to Petra, this time coming into its research sales team.
“Petra Capital is delighted to be adding four experienced and high calibre professionals to the team, to support its growing business activities,” George Marias said.
The appointments come on the back of Petra hiring in November former Salter Brothers portfolio managers Issam Eid and Rajeev de Silva to set up a fund called Arrow Asset Management, which will be open to wholesale investors and high-net-worth types in early 2022.
